The Omara Scent Display is a revolutionary device designed to harness the power of scent directly into the gaming experience. So how does it work?
Paint Richer Worlds: The Omara integrates directly with any game using our Architecture of Scent framework for Unreal Engine and Unity, giving unparalleled control of the scent experience.
Spatial Storytelling: Trigger scents based on player interactions, environmental changes, or key narrative moments.
Unprecedented Immersion: Empowers developers to evoke deeper emotions, create stronger memories, and build truly unforgettable game experiences.

The Omara is currently in the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) product development phase. We are building Beta units in house at our office in Burlington, Vermont and preparing for mass scale production with an already chosen factory partner.
-
We are scheduled to ship the first devices in Q4 of 2026. We have identified a manufacturing partner and are finalizing our BOM in May of 2026, to then start manufacturing tooling when this campaign launches in mid-May 2026.
-
The Omara works with Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS.
Our app runs on the the following versions of those or newer.
Windows 11+
MacOS 12+
Android 8+
iOS 15+

We will be offering multiple ways to purchase cassettes direct from our website when devices are shipped out to customers. You'll be able to purchase a single cassette, multi-packs, or subscribe to regular shipments.
-
We are still finalizing pricing, but they will land between $20-$40 per cassette.
-
Each scent cassette is designed to provide over 3000 bursts per channel, which translates to 60-120 hours of gameplay depending on the frequency of scent dispersal.
Cassettes are also designed to last over one month when stored properly.
-
Yes. Each channel is really small, it wouldn't make sense to replace one at a time.
-
We have designed the companion app to have device settings. When you pair with your device from the app, you'll be able to turn off individual scents, turn down the intensity of individual scents or the entire cassette, control the LEDs on the front of the device, and other settings.

We don't make malodors today. Through our years of research we learned the best scent experiences are ones with neutral to positive scents, and that is where we focused our first cassette and the start of our scent library.
-
Sometimes. Scents are the chemicals that make up things attaching to receptors in your nose. What that means is that when you smell something bad, it is also generally bad for you to inhale. We can make approximations of things that wouldn't be safe to directly inhale, we can make direct replicas of things that smell horrible. But, we like our Scentware team too much to make them do that very often and we know it won't create the game play experiences we want to share.

Our scents are fragrance oil on a dry media. We work with master perfumers to develop fragrances much like any other home scent product or fine fragrance. We use known compounds to build our scents and test them against IFRA (International Fragrance Association) and EU Allergen standards for safety.
-
Yes. Our fragrances are made with materials commonly found in fragrance products such as cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, and shampoos. To ensure the safety of our formulations, we follow the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) Standards and we receive a Certificate of Conformity with IFRA Standards aligned with Class 12 products, such as candles, reed diffusers, air fresheners, or laundry detergent.

Our personal-scent technology keeps ambient exposure minimal. However, because pets have sensitive respiratory systems, never apply scents directly to animals or fire into their faces, keep devices and cartridges securely stored out of reach to prevent ingestion, and consult your veterinarian if your pet has specific health sensitivities.

While not required to play, smell is the only sense directly linked to the brain's memory and emotion centers. The Omara transforms gaming by unlocking this sensory frontier, providing an unparalleled depth of emotional immersion and realism that graphics and audio alone simply cannot replicate.
-
No. Beyond deeper immersion, adding scent introduces entirely new gameplay mechanics, like tracking objects, sensing hazards, or navigating environments. Backed by neuroscience, the Omara expands your game world from a passive screen experience into an active, fully realized sensory reality.
-
Sometimes. Many of the games we work with do not require scent to play them, though they are better with it. Much like a game isn't as good without sound, a game just isn't the same without scent.
We do have games that are build entirely around scent as a gameplay mechanic - those games aren't possible to play without an Omara.
-
No. That was the goal of the R&D behind the device. We knew a good scent experience centered around scent to content synchronization. In order to do that we had to ensure we could clear the air quickly. If we filled the room with scent, we would have to clear the room of scent. The Omara delivers the scent directly to your nose, and only your nose, and as you exhale you clear the air.
